Zoologist: Tiger

It's a clear weather day, no clouds or rain, but not too hot. I dipped into my grab bag of dabber vials and came out with Tiger. I was quite excited about this one, and it did seem like a good day to test this fierce sounding scent.

Rather than a roaring, combative tiger, this one is quiet and crouching. Tiger is pensive, stalking through the grass in silence.

There are many notes in this soft song, but I predominantly breathe in a nutty, musky blend of ambrette and vetiver. It is familiar to me and reminds me of something else I've smelled before -- Zoologist Chipmunk and D.S. Durga Pistachio come to mind but those aren't it. I'm left perplexed but I'm not too disappointed.

Tiger isn't necessarily unique, especially for noses that gravitate towards herbal aromatic scents. But it is not common either, and it is wearable on a daily basis. A sleeping tiger, perhaps.

Goutal Paris: Le Chèvrefeuille

" In the family garden in Provence, honeysuckle bathes in the atmosphere. In tribute to the flower she used to braid her floral crowns as a child, Camille Goutal, along with Isabelle Doyen, pairs wild narcissus, bright and verdant to the softness of jasmine and lemon petitgrain, fresh and green."

Today the temperature is 80°F with a light drizzling here and there. The weather is pleasant, and I felt it was the perfect chance to wear a scent I have been curious about for years. It was on my roster as a potential wedding scent, though I ultimately chose Osmanthus to be my herald blossom rather than Honeysuckle.

The scent opens fresh and creamy reminiscent of muguet and oakmoss. These are not notes listed in the scent, but the green stemmy white florals could be interpreted either way. I love the way petitgrain has been incorporated to give a delightfully subtle leafiness, while the jasmine bolsters with indolic warmth that remains light and ethereal.

A beautiful, delicate scent that charms me. One of the best honeysuckle scents I've had the pleasure of coming across.
