All my samples are voile de parfum because of shipping restrictions.
Hansa Yellow - Heady buttercream ylang and jasmine flowers. So rich and opulent, I love this tropical perfume. This was the perfume that made me a fan of DSH. I had never encountered such a loving approach to ylang ylang, and I still have not found any perfume like it.
Orion - A gift from someone who loves me, so I enjoy this even more that I might have otherwise. Musky, clean animalic. The vision was to evoke rabbit fur. I don't think it does, and rather find it to be a statement maker for date night. Projection is arms length, at least, and it lingers nicely without overstaying it's welcome.
Spring 2026: Spring to Summer
Mango Skin - Fruity skin scent. Tart in the opening without being sharp, before morphing to fruity shampoo musk. Not a laundry detergent musk, but veers close to dish detergent in the base.
Tuberose Petals - Lovely and creamy coconut and white floral. It's just a bit heavy without being overwhelming, so it is great for spring shifting into summer. A surprise hit for me, since it is kind of unique in how light and airy it is for a tropical coconut tuberose scent. It doesn't have a sunscreen undertone, which is also a relief.
Rice Milk - My favorite from this batch of samples, with a nice balance of powdery orris and lightly sweetened milk. Starchy and sweet with a lactonic creaminess. I would not mistake this for actual rice milk which I think does not really have a scent. But it captures the textural quality of drinking a glass of rice milk. Biwa, another DSH rice scent is much more starchy and aldehydic. Lumiere would be closer to horchata.
Fall 2025: Musks and Animalics
Tigercat - Opens with a sweet sticky musk, like a waft of booze induced sex. Similarities to Foxy and Chinchilla but most of all to Le Serval. Makes sense, they are both feline themed. May be my favorite of this batch.
Green Queen - The other contender for favorite of the batch. Green, sappy, crushed leaves, snapped stems, with a fresh and slightly tart floral musk. This scent is complex and rich but fresh and airy even with all the notes. Reminds me quite a bit of Feuilles, another tart leafy rose and geranium herbal scent.
