Extrait
Cloudy, humid, slight sprinkles through the day. It is 75 degrees.
Sticky Popcorn by Jousset opens with a blast of candy. Sticky is right, and I go through a moment of dread expecting a repeat of my Paco Rabanne Pure XS nightmare from five years ago. I gave into the temptation of a beautiful bottle, with a golden snake sculpted seductively around its neck. That pink juice was pure excess in sweetness, a chemical burnt sugar bomb which I now understand to be a Paco Rabanne signature.
But Jousett handles the note with restraint. Is it ethyl maltol? Or something similar but less likely to burn your nostril hairs off? Either way, I would t necessarily label this scent "popcorn" tho popcorn has variations in smell and realistic food is generally challenging to communicate through perfume. There is a salted butter quality to the Sticky Popcorn which is excellent and comes through really nicely once the top notes fade.
Great for a sweet tooth. I'll be wearing this to the movie theater -- I'll fit right in!
